A FAIR ACCOUNTING OF OUR BELIEFS

       • THE APOSTLES' CREED

       • THE NICENE CREED

       • THE ATHANASIAN CREED

But the more comprehensive and, we believe, most accurate statements are the confessions and catechisms, which were written as a result of the Protestant Reformation, such as:

       • THE BELGIC CONFESSION

       • THE HEIDELBERG CATECHISM

       • THE CANONS OF DORT

       • THE WESTMINSTER CONFESSION OF FAITH

THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD

Briefly, we confess the sovereignty of God in all of life. That is to say, God is in control -- his plans, revealed in his Word, will be fulfilled no matter what. That is especially true in regard to our salvation. We need salvation because we have sinned against the Almighty Creator, marring his perfect creation. Yet this God whom we have offended has made provision for our salvation. He will restore us and this creation.

JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE

This restoration is made possible by the life, death and resurrection of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We obtain this salvation by grace, through the faith that God gives us.

GOD IS REDEEMING EVERYTHING

God's plan, however, applies to more than just the salvation of individuals. The good news of God's grace is spreading throughout the world and will continue to do so until God completely redeems his Creation and every knee bows before the Lord Jesus Christ.

Children in the Church

We believe that God is working amidst families.

We believe that God includes our children in His covenant and therefore they are active participants in our church in these ways:

1) We practice infant baptism Infant Baptism Questions (used in actual worship service).

2) We encourage our children to participate in the service through note taking.

3) We believe in our children taking part in communion.

After making a careful study, seeking wise counsel and engaging in long, thoughtful discussions, the Council of Wiser Lake Chapel has decided to continue the policy of welcoming the children of believing families to eat the Lord's Supper with us. While this has been the informal practice for some time, the Council, after its consideration, has made this the formal policy of the church by adopting the following statement:

"By their baptism, covenant children are admitted to full communion in the church, including participation in the Lord's Supper. The Council will encourage and assist parents as they explain to their covenant children the meaning and significance of the sacraments to the Christian life."
